The wives of university presidents are planning to travel to Turkey while ASUU is in the midst of a strike
As the National Union of University Teachers (ASUU) goes on strike, the Vice Chancellors are planning to travel to Istanbul, Turkey for a five-day conference.
According to a letter issued by the National Council of University Presidents, the meeting will be held from July 18 to 23 in Istanbul.
Punch reports that the letter has been published since May 5 and is signed by the committee’s secretary, Yakubu Ochefu.
According to Ochefu, the wife of any university president in the country will have to pay N1.5 million to attend the event.
The letter said that attending awareness sessions was important for women, considering the role they play in the success of their husbands in the country’s universities.
